Heal Your Body With The Miracle Tree – Moringa –Part 1

Moringa is always a matter of curiosity to me, especially after I found out that Moringa is also called the miracle tree.

Through my extensive research to determine what moringa is good for, I walked many extra miles to evidentially explore this statement.

My Moringa research and keen observations will equally amaze you, especially knowing the moringa leaves benefits.

The entire plant is a powerhouse of great medicinal value, with a particular mention of moringa leaves benefits, due to its easy accessibility.

Moringa Leaves

For the first time, through this article, I have unfolded the secrets of this miracle tree in an evidence based manner.

The Moringa science presented transparently in my article will help you understand how moringa will help you improve your performance in your daily routine.

Cancer protection

The word ‘cancer’ itself sounds like a death sentence to us and unfortunately for many it is.

The increasing prevalence of this disease has amplified cancer phobia in recent years and for good reasons.

And some of the key reasons assessed by The Cancer Research UK to increase its prevalence in the country are:

  • Increased life expectancy;
  • Overweight and obesity;
  • Frequent consumption of processed food;
  • Smoking;
  • Less breastfeeding habits;
  • Environment and car pollution;
  • Increase in alcohol consumption, etc1.

Cancer treatment is an expensive matter.

Repeated chemotherapy cycles increase the negative side effects.

So, the match is on to identify reliable alternative measures working alongside traditional medicine to create a safe distance from cancer!

I personally believe from multiple and various evidence that whilst this plant doesn’t have the ultimate answer Moringa still has certain powerful cancer chemo protective preventive effects.

In this respect Moringa could be a relatively cheap but, promising support of course alongside cancer treatment.

Just check first moringa use with your medical doctor.

What are the hidden anti-cancer components present in Moringa?

Now, in the next section I will reveal some of the moringa miracles present in its ingredients, so that you can trust the anti-cancer impact of moringa.

  • Stable isothiocyanates including benzyl isothiocyanate, obtained from Moringa has a great role against cancer due to its anti-inflammatory effect2.
Anti Inflammatory
  • Eugenol, a phenolic compound of Moringa has effective anticancer activity.

It specifically targets cancer cells and interferes with cancer cell proliferation and progression by inducing apoptosis3.

  • Polyflavonoids and polyphenols are present in Moringa leaves.

They possess great antioxidant properties and are immensely effective against cancer progression4.

  • Glycoside compounds are loaded in Moringa leaves, such as glucosinolates and beta-sitosterol, have a cytotoxic property which is effective against cancer cell growth5.

The above scientific facts about the hidden phytochemicals present in Moringa speaks for themselves.

Why Moringa is a better choice than other cruciferous vegetables for cancer prevention?

Sometimes it becomes challenging to consume daily fresh cruciferous vegetables like broccoli, cabbage or winter cress.

The most ideal is a dietary formulation made up of these cruciferous vegetables to naturally prevent cancer (up to a point) to a certain extent in a conventional way.

However,

This may not give adequate results due to their chemically unstable phytochemicals which are volatile in nature.

These gets quickly converted to degradable products.

Some of the phytochemicals like, glucosinolates are altered by gut microbiota during metabolism.

In short,

These phytochemicals cannot always provide constant and extended therapeutic benefits including anti-inflammatory and anticancer effects.

Now let’s come back to moringa.

Moringa contains an extra sugar molecule in isothiocyanates structure.

This structure configuration gives relatively stable bioactive isothiocyanates.

The viscous nature of these phytochemicals is stable at room temperature.

Thus, Moringa leaf extract formulations are commercially available as dietary supplements2.

Can Moringa improve cancer treatment outcome?

Currently, chemotherapy is considered a standard cancer treatment.

But, many people are concerned about the tendency of certain malignant tumors that started after patients started developing drug resistance.

Some doctors admit that the increased dose of chemotherapy is not always a solution, as it also increases the negative side effect to cancer patients.

Therefore, in some cases it might be better to benefit from some type of chemo-preventive support – this is where Moringa might fit in.

Some of the cancer-related side effects are:

  • Nausea and vomiting tendency,
  • Loss of appetite,
  • Chronic fatigue condition,
  • Anemia,
  • Gastro-intestinal problems like constipation and diarrhea,
  • Cognitive issues such as memory loss,
  • Poor concentration etc, are a bigger concern than the disease itself5,6.

I personally think that the ideal therapy is traditional medicine alongside some medically approved alternative natural compounds which can enhance cytotoxic effects of chemotherapy or able to suppress chemo-resistance of cancer cells against chemotherapy to improve the treatment outcome.

Surprisingly, my search ended at Moringa.

According to a research study carried out on pancreatic cancer cells, the Moringa leaf extract can inhibit NF-κB signaling, which plays a significant role in cancer cell survival7.

What are the benefits you might achieve to use Moringa along with standard cancer treatment?

Research shows that a combination therapy of Moringa leaf extract with cisplatin, the chemotherapeutic agent, improves survival rate by regulating the cell cycle and reducing protein levels in cancer affected cells8.

Both, Moringa leaf extract with cisplatin combination gives synergistic effects and inhibits cancer cell proliferation8.

Moringa leaf extract can improve immune tolerance9, and can help to tolerate chemotherapy.

Apart from chemotherapy, radiotherapies are also frequently recommended in cancer treatment.

The anti-proliferative and anti-angiogenic activity of Moringa provides a great negative impact on cancer cell survival.

Combination of Moringa with radiation therapy provides an additional inhibitory effect on the cancer cell.

Even the notable oncology researchers have considered that this combination is a novel approach in cancer treatment10.

You will be astonished to know that Moringa is one of the most nutrient‐rich plants on earth11.

I personally believe that the nutritional value of Moringa has further added benefit to cancer patients since, the power-pack nutritional content of Moringa help to maintain the normal energy level and prevent malnutrition problem associated with cancer treatment.

Conclusion

Without any doubt what so ever, the Moringa tree is a functional food or superfood if you’d like to call it this way and a major nutritional powerhouse.

In my next article…

I will show you what the specific nutrients from Moringa products are which could help you lose weight, fight cancer, heart attacks, stroke, bronchitis, and diabetes alongside the medication prescribed by your medical doctor.

Overall, I will show you how to use Moringa to improve your daily work related and gym performance and recover from gym training in no time.
