Pilates Exercises for Sciatica Pain

If You’re a High Professional Achiever, Your Body Might Be Holding You Back!

It’s the same thing every time! Your day is filled to the brim with board meetings, investment conflict resolution, crisis management, and power struggles: The life of one of the best personal trainer in London is very different from the life of the CEO, the high-flying executive, the world class designer, the leader of men and women.

You’ve worked real hard to get here, and you have arrived professionally, but…

When you get home, you are so utterly beat that the only thing you can do is kick off your shoes, grab a glass of wine or a few beers, crisps and Cornish pasties and plop down on the couch in front of the telly, and finish it off with a generous dollop of Eton mess or sticky toffee pudding.

Cardiac Rehabilitation in Women

And you can completely forget that cardio session you promised yourself you’d do.

As you finish eating, your mind starts to wander and worry starts to creep in on your thoughts…

You know you’ve promised yourself to start getting in shape and eating smarter, but you never really get around to it.

You feel your back pain is acting up again, it’s been aching for weeks, now.

You look down at your thighs, belly and don’t really like the smooth curve it has taken.

Your shoulders are a bit rounded from sitting at your desk all day; luxurious corner office that it is, your body just wasn’t made to spend all day sitting.

This not only affects your weight and your energy, it also affects your confidence and posture!

Do you have a question about  posture, losing weight or rehabilitate your back injury ?

“Your posture is the key to your personal and professional foundation.”

― Cindy Ann Peterson ―  AICI CIC, Internationally Certified Image Consultant, Designer, Author, and On-call Tailor for Bill Clinton

According to Eric Robertson, spokesperson for the American Physical Therapy Association, your posture is the preferred biomechanical alignment of your body. This impacts how much pressure is placed on your spine, muscles and joints, and reflects your body’s overall health. [i]

Cindy Ann Peterson (quoted above) says that “Posture is Paramount!”

Throughout the year I personally train banking executives in Canary Wharf, high end corporate accountants, and I teach businesswomen and men to lose weight fast.

We thrive and achieve more when our health, fitness and bodies are performing at optimum levels.

Implementing a correct posture is not just healthy but, it is also sexy.

An optimum, tall posture brings prestige to the table, and has helped all my clients to reach their potential faster.

Wouldn’t you like to have a tall-winning posture?

Your posture affects your health in several ways

  • Studies have shown that there is a relationship between neck pain and forward head posture and backward bending of the neck. [ii]
  • Jill Henderzahs-Mason, a wellness physical therapist at the Mayo Clinic’s Healthy Living Program in Rochester, Minnesota, reports that hunched shoulders can impact breathing because the diaphragm and lungs have less space to expand. [iii]
  • Poor posture has also been reported to cause changes in the curve of the spine, poor digestion, increased chance of cardiovascular issues, varicose veins, and back pain. [iv]
  • The effects of your posture are not only physical, it also affects your mental health. Slumping and slouching may influence a person’s mood, cause increased stress, less motivation, and fatigue.

All of these things you probably already know…

What you probably didn’t know, is that a poor posture can also take its toll on your professional life as well!

  • Musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs: which are impairments of bodily structures like muscles, joints, tendons, ligaments, nerves, or the localised blood circulation system) have a huge impact on your work.

MSDs can interfere with your normal work activities, reduce your productivity, cause an increase in absenteeism due to illness, and result in chronic occupational disabilities. [v]

  • Jill Henderzahs-Mason also reports that people with poor posture are perceived as less confident by others, and they even feel less competent. [vi]
  • On the flip side, good posture has been reported to cause increased self-esteem, better mood, lower levels of fear, and it even results in the use of more positive words and an increase in the rate of speech. [vii]
  • A correct posture could increase testosterone production in your body whilst a poor posture will lower testosterone levels.
  • Studies have shown that people who adopt more “high-power”, dominant and expansive poses feel more powerful, more in control, and are able to tolerate higher levels of distress, and take more risks. [viii][ix][x]

Obviously, your performance and leadership will get a massive boost when you exercise and use nutrition smart but, also properly correct your posture.

Bathroom scale: BMI, is your gentle friend or your bitter enemy?

You’re concerned about your weight, we can sympathise with that.

Living in the UK, however, it would be imprudent not to!

Take a look at the following statistics from the Organisation for Economic Co-Operation and Development. [xi]

  • In 2016/17, there were 617 thousand admissions in NHS hospitals where obesity was a factor
  • In 2016/17, 1 in 5 children in Year 6 and 1 in 10 children in Reception were classified as obese.
  • Around 60% of adults in the UK are considered overweight.
  • In 2016, 26% of adults were classified as obese.
  • Obesity rates were expected to increase in the UK to about %39.
  • Studies show that only 75% of overweight individuals were able to correctly identify themselves as overweight, which means that 25% of overweight people failed to recognise their weight as a cause for concern. This figure is actually increasing over the years. [xii]

I’m sure you are perfectly aware of the myriad health hazards of being overweight and obese, so we won’t go into them here, but did you know that extra weight can also affect your career and professional performance?

As it turns out, obese people are usually viewed by others in a negative light. [xiii]

Yes, unfortunately there is discrimination and various stigma that are associated with the overweight and obesity, such as difficulties in finding jobs, partner you want, having lower incomes, and an unlikeliness of being in leadership positions.

They are often seen as solely responsible for their own condition which is not fair since putting on weight is a very complex matter.

However,

This may as a result lead to them suffering from low self-esteem, chronic stress, and a feeling of being out of control, all of which may culminate in developing psychological disorders, such as anxiety disorder.

Which of course,

This may further complicate the weight situation through dysfunctional eating behaviours such as binge eating. [xiv]

So,

It goes without saying that you will do much better when you manage your weight, but the issue can be a bit daunting.

You’ve often tried yourself but got lost in all the slim fit data and weight loss strategies, and ended up throwing in the towel in despair.

But, this doesn’t have to be this way.

Just read what my client Beverley said after training with me.

“I am two stone lighter now than I was when we first met. I have always felt 100% cared for, safe and supported with Jazz. The customised personal training programme Jazz designed for me helped me to completely get rid of my back pains, tension in my shoulders, and hip pain and increased my body coordination, flexibility and overall improved the range of movement throughout my body.”

Elite’s best personal trainer in London

YOUR TRAINER WON’T LET YOU FALL OFF THE WAGON!

An elite trainer will help you overcome your lack of motivation.

Studies show that trainers’ behaviours have a beneficial impact on athletes’ intrinsic and extrinsic motivation, which are important determinants of performance and persistence. [xv]

An elite personal trainer will also hold you accountable, which makes you even more likely to succeed.

Ever since antiquity, people have enlisted the help of others to help them stick to their goals.

Do you remember that bloke Ulysses?

He asked his shipmates to tie him up when they were passing by the Sirens: the beautiful girls that were actually a sea monster in waiting, so that he wouldn’t succumb to their singing.

Clever lad!

But it’s not mythological, it’s empirical!

Economists John Romalis and Dean Karlan devised a system to help them lose weight.

They called that system “the commitment contract” and went on to create an online platform to help others commit to their goals.

Their research has shown that people were significantly more successful if they signed a contract obliging them to do so. [xvi], [xvii]

So committing to a trainer will make you much more likely to achieve your goals.

AN ELITE PERSONAL TRAINER HAS A SMART PLAN!

Sometimes you don’t follow through because you don’t really have a smart plan.

Chip and Dan Heath in their bestselling book, Switch, tell us that what often looks like resistance to change is actually a lack of clarity. [xviii]

A study conducted on people trying to lose weight showed that telling them to eat healthy wasn’t getting any results.

However, telling them to consume milk with 1% fat, instead of whole milk, did.

The reason is that it provided clear instructions that people could follow while shopping for groceries, something the vague “eat healthy” could never do. [xix]

The thing is, though.

You need to know that those clear instructions will work.

But YOU don’t have to, that’s what you pay an elite personal  trainer to do!

“Since I started to train with Alessi I lost over 16 pounds of fat and, while I tremendously increased my muscle mass. Jazz will help you achieve your goals and take you to other levels you can only dream off. The benefit of training with Jazz is that as an expert personal trainer in London, Pilates teacher and a Harley street nutritionist he looks after every aspect of your development.

An Elite Personal Trainer Designs A Customised  Programme to Fit YOU!

You might be thinking that exercising and eating isn’t really rocket science.

A quick Google search will get you on your way.

However, research shows that general recommendations for exercise and nutrition can be provided, but should be fine-tuned with individual consideration of total energy needs, specific training needs and feedback from training performance.[xx]

So, for example, do you know the Glycemic index of the foods that you’re eating?

Do you know that the glycemic index of foods consumed before exercise can affect fat oxidation (loss) during that exercise? [xxi]

And typically about 60% of our total energy needs come from the energy you use at rest (your Basal Metabolic Rate, or BMR), but this BMR itself varies greatly depending on your body mass and composition, and your age, gender, and activity level. [xxii]

The bottom line is that the food you eat, and when you eat it will vary depending on the type of activity you are engaging in, [xxiii] and the activity you engage in should be tailored according to your goals, needs, and abilities.

This is not that hard to find out if you are an elite trainer, but do you really have the time to do all that?

How many times have you wanted to embark on your own journey of nutritional education but never got around to it?

Well, how about you recruit the help of the best trainer in London, and save yourself the time.

As an elite professional yourself, don’t deny yourself the benefits of having elite professional guidance.

The quid you pay for those services today will not only save you a whole lot in remedies in future, but it’ll also increase your performance manifold.

It’s definitely quids in.

Just, don’t take my word – this is what my client Emma said…

“I lost over 14 pounds of fat and I increased my lean body mass. I have nearly tripled my endurance level, now having a lean body and more energy than before. With his unique training method, I have increased my running speed over three-fold. Alessi Jazz was born to train and he is 100% focused at all times. He makes you believe that you are superhuman and through his unique personal training method he trains you so that you then believe you are..
