Pilates-For-Injuries

As a second generation Pilates teacher, I know very well that authentic Pilates is one of the most powerful rehabilitation tools that exists in the world, and can help to achieve your sports injury specific rehabilitation goals.

If you have or had an unpleasant injury experience, then you know how painful and frustrating this can be and how the injury could still cause you pain, imbalance and misery in your muscles, around ligaments, tendons and joints.

When you are injured and work with a Pilates Personal Trainer, you will get back to your normal life much quicker than you think.

How Pilates helps with Injury Recovery

Pilates exercises have no impact on the joints and the techniques are successfully used in a tailored manner to help with back-pains, lower back-pain and neck-problems, sports injuries, knee-injuries and ankle-injuries, as well as repetitive-strain-injuries and more.

Pilates is one of the safest rehabilitation forms of exercise, if not the safest, and uses different levels of progression, adaptations and controlled exercises to help you recover after surgery, accidents, injuries – or just to go back and successfully compete in your chosen sport.

Pilates is also a gentle and controlled form of exercise; this is absolutely essential and will help you when you are trying to recover from a new or old injury.

The Pilates Method of Exercise will improve overall your body flexibility, mobility of the joints and increase your strength and core, teaching you how to correct-posture, helping to restore correct-posture and achieving the body-balance you need to be and to feel at your best.

Pilates exercises increase the blood flow to the injured area, improving wellbeing and releasing endorphins, which are some of the most effective body’s natural painkillers.

Pilates helps to prevent Sports Injuries

Pilates helps to prevent Sports Injuries

Pilates can help you to prevent injuries from occurring in the first place.

Pilates creates suppleness, increases muscle flexibility and strength and, as this happens, all muscles become able to contract and expand more.

Pilates teaches the person how to strengthen the powerhouse-core-muscle, which provides excellent support for the back and overall for all the other joints and body structures in place.

Authentic Pilates offers varied and different structured levels of exercise, and facilitates all levels of fitness, increasing your abilities overall and helping you fulfil and achieve your rehab goals.

As a second generation Pilates teacher, I will provide you with professional support using second generation, one-to-one Pilates Personal Training, my unique, injury-recovery and sciatica rehabilitation programme, my Master Rehab approach and specific rehab injury techniques to help you to rehabilitate your muscle, joints and the site of injury.

We’ll start by working with your therapist (if you require or ask) and moving you away from pathological to functional, and then helping you to enjoy freedom and the absence of pain – and a normal range of movement, with excellent body balance, great muscle tone and overall good strength, moving you in your optimal range.

My one-to-one London Pilates Personal Training provides you with a bespoke programme, designed to address your individual needs; it gives you the highest level of attention and support.

If you are dealing with injuries then I can definitely help you.

Just obtain a clear diagnostic and ensure clearance from your GP or health professional – and contact me, so I can work with you, directly, and help you make the difference your body deserves.
