Injury Rehabilitation Coach in London Helps You Getting Back on Track Using Customised Hamstring Sports Injury Rehabilitation Training

If a hamstring injury (hamstring strains) occurred in your running routine for your charity-runs, triathlon training, preparation for the London marathon or general fitness training it is important that you follow immediately the correct first aid principles helping yourself to minimise your hamstring injury damage and help to speed up your recovery.

Are you struggling with any of these:

  • Hamstring and muscle leg injuries
  • Lower back pain
  • Sciatic pain
  • Lack of flexibility
  • Any lower body injuries

Do you have a hamstring injury or any other type of injury?

Contact me now through this link,  HERE and I’ll get back to you helping you to rehabilitate your hamstring injury or any injury you may have!

One-on-One personalised Elite Personal Training Rehab at your London location will help you to recover fast and safe.

The correct first aid for hamstring injury is Rest, Ice, Compression, and Elevation (RICE). This process is very simple and is very effective especially when is applied for the next 48-72 hours after a hamstring injury occurred.

As this is the most critical time for your injury please make sure you apply generous ice to the affected area, use a compression bandage and elevate the leg if possible.

After RICE (Rest, Ice, Compression, and Elevation) it is ideal to call a London personal trainer who’s accredited and specialised to deal with sports injury as trying to shop for a good doctor of physiotherapist in London could easily turn into a nightmare.

In 2002  I suffered from an ordinary hamstring and groin strain/injury. After visiting one of the most famous physiotherapist’s lady (I found  her on the web) the  physiotherapy session left me in absolute pain, – 100% dependent on pain killers and not able to move at all for a few “long” weeks.

Since then I’ve selected extremely carefully all the professionals I work with and I’ll be very delighted to refer you to an excellent sports doctor or physiotherapist should you need one.

As a London Injury Rehabilitation Coach and an elite personal trainer  I know what you need and I will put you in touch with the right medical doctor specialised in sports injuries or a London physiotherapist.

Please contact me if you require any help.

What  Causes  Hamstring  Injury?

Hamstring-injury is caused by lack of flexibility or too much flexibility in certain leg/pelvis areas, high intensity exercise as well as poor strength of the hamstring muscle, poor concentration and focus and tiredness and fatigue during exercise and/or an imbalance in between the quadriceps, hamstring, adductor, iliotibial band and pelvis muscles etc. Hamstring strains and hamstring injuries also occur in actions resulted from severe or repeated muscle overload, pulling actions, which tear the hamstring and/or tendons or over stretching.

Quick Hamstring Anatomy

Muscles attach to tendons and ligaments attach bone to bone. Muscle contractions cause tendons to pull the bones and in short this is how movement is created.

The three hamstring muscles are called semimembranosus, semitendinosus and biceps femoris.

These three hamstring muscles are located at the back of the upper leg attached at the upper part straight to the lower part of your pelvis and at the bottom of your mid leg just below your knee joint.

The semimembranosus muscle helps to extend the hip joint, flex the knee and is innervated by the tibial nerve and is linked with the ventral nerve root from L4 (lumbar spine) through S3 (sacral spine).

The semitendinosus muscle straightens the hip join, bends the knee and counteracts forward bending.

When the knee is flexed the semitendinosus helps to medially rotate the tibia on the femur and when the hip is extended medially rotate the femur.

The tibial nerve which is branched from the sciatic nerve innervates the semitendinosus muscle – hence the multiple semitendinosus exercise applications in Pilates and personal training with regard to sciatic pain.

At the upper body neural connections comprise L5-S2.

The biceps femoris muscle is involved in knee flexion and hip extension and with a semi flexed knee slightly helps to rotate the leg outward.

The short and long head of the biceps femoris and their neural connections comprise L5 (lumbar spine) -S2 (sacral spine). These three muscles have sciatic nerve connections with sciatic neural innervations.
