Furthermore our metabolism slows down and many changes start having a negative impact on us around the age of 45-50.

However when comes to metabolism, this is only partially true because our metabolism depends on many cumulative factors like exercise, individualised nutrition, exposure to toxins and chemicals, and stress management  (not just aging!)  which could either accelerate the aging process or slow  it down.
