A team of researchers at the Imperial College Healthcare in London started a groundbreaking project which only demonstrates the true power of personal training.

The pilot scheme included 70 patients who signed up for four to six weeks of rehab preparation and exercise and nutrition.

The goal here was to “train” patients for surgery that lasts 10-12 hours.

Results were outstanding [1]:

  • Postoperative complications fell from 70% to 30%
  • Pneumonia rates halved to 29%
  • Patients were discharged seven or eight days after surgery, down from 17 days
